Poor stitch quality?
Follow these steps before calling for help.
1. Make sure you are using "good quality" thread. Quite often sewing problems are caused by old or weak thread.
2. Change your needle. If you suddenly start getting a bad stitch, change your needle before you do anything else. Needles do all the work, they get tired! A NEW NEEDLE will do wonders for your stitch quality.
3. Clean your machine. Use the lint brush that came with your machine to remove all lint and dust from the bobbin area. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN YOUR USER MANUAL!
4. Check your bobbin to be sure that the thread wind is smooth and even. There should be no "thread loops."
5. Unthread and rethread the machine. CHECK THE USER'S MANUAL FOR CORRECT THREADING PATH.
6. Adjust the NEEDLE THREAD tension.
a) Start with the number suggested for your machine.
b) Adjust the numbers by small increments.
1) If the thread is floating on the underside of your fabric, go to the higher number.
2) If thread is floating on the top side of your fabric, go to the lower number.
7. Bobbin tension adjustment should be done by a service technician
